AI in education: Navigating the future of learning and teaching

As AI transforms the job market and education, promising tailored learning experiences, who will truly benefit from it? Join the conversation at the Silesian Science Festival to explore how AI is reshaping the future of teaching and learning.

Panel discussion within the European City of Science 2024, with Anna Maj, Prof. Derrick de Kerckhove, Prof. Jacek Pyżalski, Prof. Horst Hoertner, and Prof. Wolfgang Muench.

Check the details.

I leverage AI daily: for learning, coding, prototyping, and processing information hidden in files and databases. Like it or not, we’ll be using it increasingly – primarily because we’re overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information that exceeds an individual’s cognitive capacity.

The promise of AI: Instant, tailored learning experiences that can dynamically adapt to different needs and individual learning styles. The catch? Not everyone will benefit equally. Those with strong traditional education – math skills, critical thinking, and robust social networks – will still find it easier to adapt and seize new opportunities.

Having worked at Medialab Katowice and explored AI tools across several startups (most recently in the British Multiverse, which hopes to redefine how we upskill online), I’ve been investigating how to best leverage AI for teaching – and now I’d like to share my experiences.

Intrigued? Sceptical and want to dig deeper?

Let’s meet at the Silesian Science Festival within the European City of Science 2024, where we’ll dive into discussions with brilliant experts invited by my colleague and mentor, Anna Maj, to Katowice: Prof. Derrick de Kerckhove, Prof. Jacek Pyżalski, Prof. Horst Hoertner, and Prof. Wolfgang Muench.
